Twenty-one years later, Adeoye marries Labi after she rejects Akin: Adeoye's boss. After three years of a childless marriage, Adeoye decides to marry Rotunda once he becomes a professor. Hurting from previous losses to Adeoye, Akin swears to thwart his promotion.
